Lead Azure Cloud Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a seasoned Lead Azure Cloud Engineer to design, build, automate, and manage secure, scalable, and cost‑effective solutions on Microsoft Azure. The role is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere in Armenia while collaborating with Cloud Architects, Platform Engineering, DevOps, Security, Networking, Data, AI, and Product teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain Azure infrastructure (subscriptions, resource groups, networking, identity, governance, security, and platform services).
• Create reusable Azure deployment patterns for applications, APIs, micro‑services, containers, serverless workloads, data integrations, and AI‑enabled solutions.
• Operate Azure Kubernetes Service environments, including node pools, ingress, workload identity, secrets management, autoscaling, monitoring, and security controls.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform with reusable modules and multi‑environment pipelines.
• Build CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI/CD and support DevOps practices such as automated testing, security scanning, artifact management, and release automation.
• Leverage AI‑assisted tools like GitHub Copilot to accelerate scripting, IaC development, and documentation.
• Deploy cloud‑native services (App Service, Functions, Logic Apps, Event Grid, Service Bus, Storage, Key Vault, API Management, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Monitor, Application Insights).
• Implement AI solutions using Azure AI, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, Azure Machine Learning, and related services.
• Ensure secure integration using managed identities, RBAC, private endpoints, NSGs, firewalls, and API gateways.
• Set up and maintain observability, logging, and monitoring across all workloads.

Required profile

• Proven experience architecting and operating large‑scale Azure environments.
• Strong background in containerization, Kubernetes, and serverless architectures.
• Hands‑on expertise with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and CI/CD pipeline creation.
• Familiarity with Azure security best practices and AI service integration.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
