Medical Oncologist

About the role
BostonGene is seeking a Medical Oncologist to translate clinical and molecular tumor data into actionable insights that guide therapy selection and clinical‑trial matching for cancer patients. The role sits at the intersection of patient care and data‑driven precision oncology, supporting both internal scientific teams and external biopharma partners.
Key responsibilities
- Review and interpret clinical data for oncology cases, identifying key biomarkers relevant to therapy selection and prognosis.
- Match identified biomarkers to appropriate treatment options and ongoing clinical trials using NCCN, ASCO, ESMO guidelines and current literature.
- Prepare concise, clinically actionable reports summarising molecular findings and treatment recommendations.
- Collaborate with pathologists, molecular biologists, variant scientists and other scientific teams to develop personalized treatment strategies.
- Curate and maintain internal knowledge bases covering biomarker identification, therapy matching, tumor classifications, drug approvals and trial information.
- Stay up‑to‑date with evolving clinical guidelines, approved therapies and the oncology trial landscape.
- Ensure quality and consistency of clinical interpretations produced by the team.
- Develop and maintain SOPs for clinical review workflows and quality control.
- Participate in scientific and clinical collaborations related to tumor biology and precision oncology.
Required profile
- MD with a specialization in oncology (or hematology‑oncology); clinical experience treating cancer patients preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of clinical oncology guidelines (NCCN, ASCO, ESMO).
- Basic understanding of molecular oncology concepts, including somatic/germline variants, gene expression and biomarker testing.
- Familiarity with clinical‑trial eligibility criteria and patient‑trial matching is a plus.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to present findings clearly to scientific and clinical audiences.
- Upper‑intermediate proficiency in English; Russian language skills are preferred.
