QA Engineer – Test Automation & AI Agents

About the role

Insight is looking for a QA Engineer for its Application Development department. This is a department role, not tied to a single customer project: the engineer works across concurrent and successive engagements and acts in the best interest of Insight's stakeholders and customers. The role suits a test automation engineer with solid Playwright fundamentals who uses AI agents and coding assistants in daily testing, can build their own CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions and owns the quality of their work.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain Playwright end-to-end and API test suites, keeping them reliable on every change
• Write and run evaluations for agentic workflows: task completion, tool-call correctness, guardrails and regression across prompt and model changes
• Build and run agents for test generation, execution and triage, and stay accountable for their output
• Create and maintain GitHub Actions workflows that run test suites, publish results and enforce quality gates
• Identify defects, coverage gaps and risks and fix them or drive them to resolution without waiting for direction
• Take part in test strategy discussions, code reviews and team quality practices, and help onboard new engineers
• Support UAT cycles, defect triage and release readiness, and report coverage for the components they own
• Communicate progress, risks and blockers promptly to the technical lead and Application Development leadership

Required profile

• Professional QA and test automation experience on web applications and APIs, with automated suites running in CI
• Hands-on experience testing applications on Google Cloud Platform or another major public cloud
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• Ability to collaborate with senior engineers, technical leads and customer stakeholders

Required skills

• Playwright and TypeScript for end-to-end test automation
• Evaluating agentic workflows and building AI agents for testing (e.g. Google ADK)
• Daily use of AI coding assistants and agentic development tools
• GitHub Actions pipelines for test suites and quality gates
• REST API testing and SQL for data validation
• Test case design and planning for web frontends and backend services

Useful qualifications include a Google Cloud Associate or Professional certification, performance and load testing (k6, JMeter), accessibility testing (WCAG), mobile test automation, and experience in government or regulated environments.
