Senior Machine Learning Engineer

About the role

SoftConstruct is looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join its AI Center of Excellence department. The engineer applies strong AI expertise to prototype, develop and deploy machine learning models, collaborating with cross-functional teams to build AI products end-to-end, from ideation and design to deployment and integration into production systems. The role calls for a broad machine learning engineering skill set and a proven ability to lead projects independently.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy machine learning models and pipelines to solve complex business problems
• Apply expertise in machine learning, optimization and software engineering to create scalable AI solutions
• Work with technical and business stakeholders so ML models integrate smoothly into production systems
• Guide and mentor junior engineers, advocate for engineering best practices and help recruit technical talent
• Build and optimise data pipelines, ETL processes and model-serving frameworks
• Identify opportunities to use machine learning and drive innovation
• Monitor, debug and improve model performance and reliability in production

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, statistics, mathematics or a related field (advanced degree preferred)
• 5+ years of hands-on experience building and deploying machine learning models in production
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP or Azure and managing large-scale data processing
• Experience deploying ML models with tools such as Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines
• Understanding of MLOps principles and tools
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Required skills

• Python, Git and ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch or Scikit-learn
• Scalable ETL pipelines and job-scheduling systems
• Causal inference and experimental design is a plus
