Staff Software Engineer – Frontend

About the role

Block Labs is building a multi‑brand consumer platform using React, Next.js and TypeScript. As the most senior frontend engineer, you will own the UI architecture, design system, and production behaviour of a codebase that serves several brands.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain the frontend architecture, conventions, and quality standards for a multi‑brand platform.
• Make brand onboarding a configuration‑only task, handling theming, routing and content separation.
• Build and evolve a shared design system and component library used by engineers, designers and AI‑assisted prototypes.
• Turn AI‑generated prototypes into production‑ready features quickly, creating repeatable workflows and tooling.
• Ship consumer‑facing UI with a focus on performance, accessibility, and Core Web Vitals.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience building production consumer‑facing web applications, with senior or staff‑level ownership.
• Proven track record of taking a frontend from brief to production and clearly defining your contributions.
• Comfortable working autonomously, writing clear documentation, and collaborating with non‑engineers who use AI tools.
• Strong command of written and verbal English.
