Staff Software Engineer, Golang

About the role

Block Labs is building high‑scale, production‑grade backend platforms for crypto, fintech, and real‑money gaming. As a Staff Software Engineer you will own the design, implementation, and operation of distributed, transactional services written in Go.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business outcomes and constraints into scoped, sequenced, shippable work.
• Design, develop, and maintain high‑volume, multi‑tenant Go services that integrate with payments providers and internal platforms.
• Define and enforce correctness guarantees for balances and transactional behavior.
• Set up testing harnesses, automated checks, and guardrails to enable safe contributions from other engineers.
• Operate the services in production, monitor failure modes, and resolve incidents.

Required profile

• Deep proficiency in Go, especially for high‑throughput, transactional systems.
• Experience owning end‑to‑end backend services, from architecture to production support.
• Strong judgment in system design, testing, and operational reliability.
• Ability to work autonomously, define scope, and make architectural decisions without a pre‑defined backlog.
