Automation Test Engineer – Python Testing Infrastructure

About the role

Broadridge is seeking an Automation Test Engineer who will design, develop, and maintain Python‑based testing infrastructure and frameworks to ensure the quality of its CQG products. The role combines software development, performance testing, and defect analysis in a fast‑paced financial technology environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Python testing infrastructure, frameworks, and tools.
• Create scalable, maintainable automated testing solutions, including performance testing capabilities.
• Improve reliability and performance of the testing infrastructure.
• Review, refactor, and enhance existing Python codebases.
• Analyze performance test results, investigate degradations, and recommend improvements.
• Analyze automated test outcomes, reproduce issues, and report defects in both the framework and the product under test.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of hands‑on software development experience with Python (OOP, concurrency, performance optimization, debugging).
• Experience with testing frameworks such as pytest or unittest.
• Knowledge of network protocols and Python network programming (socket, websocket, asyncio).
• 2+ years of testing experience, including backend and client/server applications.
• Ability to develop test plans and test cases; performance testing experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and bug‑tracking systems (Jira).
• Strong communication skills in English and attention to detail.
