Communications Specialist

About the role

The Communications Specialist will lead Carota’s external and internal communications, turning research and program activities into clear, engaging narratives for diverse audiences. This contract‑based remote position supports cultural, educational and sustainability initiatives through press releases, newsletters, social media, and website content.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute content and social‑media calendars.
• Draft and edit press releases, newsletters, website copy and social‑media posts in Armenian and English.
• Promote articles, publications, events (e.g., The Bird of a Thousand Voices, Matenadaran international event) and multimedia projects.
• Support communication campaigns for cultural, educational and environmental projects, including the COP17 Green Zone pavilion.
• Coordinate with project leads to translate research into audience‑friendly stories.
• Monitor media and social channels, track performance metrics and ensure consistent messaging.
• Liaise with media outlets, partners and donors to increase visibility.

Required profile

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Armenian and English.
• Experience drafting articles, reports and outreach materials for diverse audiences.
• Proven ability to manage digital and social‑media platforms and engage audiences.
• Background in storytelling for cultural, educational, environmental or community‑based contexts.
• Strong editing and proofreading competence.
