Java Developer (remote, work anywhere)

About the role

We are looking for a talented Java Developer to join TuxCare’s Endless Lifecycle Support (ELS) team. You will help secure Java‑based environments by analysing vulnerabilities, back‑porting patches and delivering production‑ready updates for a range of open‑source libraries and frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse publicly disclosed CVEs affecting Java open‑source libraries and frameworks.
• Identify safe, compatible versions of third‑party dependencies.
• Back‑port security patches from newer releases to older, unsupported versions.
• Implement fixes or mitigations when upstream patches are unavailable.
• Write clean, maintainable and well‑documented code.
• Collaborate with engineers and security specialists to deliver high‑quality updates.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Java Core and the Spring framework.
• Proficiency with dependency‑management tools such as Maven, Gradle or Ant.
• Daily use of AI‑assisted development tools.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Jenkins or GitHub.
• Comfort working with legacy systems and maintaining backward compatibility.
• Upper‑intermediate English proficiency or higher.
