AI Automation Engineer

About the role

SoftConstruct is looking for an AI Automation Engineer to join its AI Center of Excellence. You will design and deliver production‑grade AI agents and automation services that power internal and external workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement robust AI agents and automation services for production use.
• Create data pipelines that extract information and apply LLM‑driven transformations.
• Integrate external tools and APIs such as web parsers, email, chat systems, and streaming data sources.
• Expose agent workflows through well‑documented APIs or event‑driven services.
• Build reliable systems with caching, retries, observability, and performance optimisation.
• Contribute to internal SDKs and frameworks that accelerate AI agent development.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate use cases into maintainable solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• 5+ years of professional Python experience, especially with modern async and type‑hinted code.
• Proven experience building scalable backend APIs using frameworks such as FastAPI or Django.
• Hands‑on knowledge of LLM agent patterns (e.g., ReAct, tool‑calling) and frameworks like LangChain.
• Practical experience with event‑driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and orchestration tools (Dagster, Airflow).
• Familiarity with relational (PostgreSQL) and non‑relational databases (MongoDB, Redis, PgVector).
• Strong understanding of CI/CD practices, preferably with Azure DevOps.
• Commitment to writing thorough unit and integration tests.
