Audit Manager – NGOs & Donor‑Funded Projects

About the role

The Audit Manager will lead audit engagements focused on NGOs, donor‑funded projects, grants and development‑sector organisations. Reporting to the Audit Partner, the role combines technical audit expertise, client relationship management and team leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, manage and deliver audit and assurance engagements in line with professional standards, BDO methodology and client requirements.
• Lead audits of NGOs, donor‑funded projects and funds, reviewing compliance with donor agreements, regulations and internal controls.
• Assess audit risks, design appropriate procedures, and review audit evidence and working papers.
• Review financial statements, reports, expenditures and supporting documentation.
• Ensure engagements are completed within agreed timelines, budgets and quality standards.
• Supervise, coach and develop audit team members, reviewing their work for accuracy.
• Act as primary client contact, maintaining professional relationships with management and stakeholders.
• Identify significant audit findings and provide practical recommendations.
• Support partners in proposals, tenders and business development activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of audit experience, including supervisory or managerial responsibilities.
• Proven experience auditing NGOs, donor‑funded projects, grants or funds.
• ACCA qualification (mandatory).
• Strong knowledge of International Standards on Auditing (ISA) and relevant financial reporting frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and project‑management abilities.
• Fluent in English and Armenian.
