Electrical Designer III

About the role

The Electrical Designer III leads the creation and delivery of electrical construction documents for a broad spectrum of projects. Leveraging deep knowledge of the NEC, energy codes, lighting and power systems, and national standards, the role operates with minimal engineering oversight while providing technical leadership, quality control, and client‑facing support.

Key responsibilities

• Develop complete electrical designs, including one‑line diagrams, calculations, specifications, and equipment selection.
• Produce construction‑ready documents independently for most project types.
• Serve as a technical mentor and quality‑control checkpoint for junior designers.
• Communicate design intent effectively with internal teams and external clients.
• Apply NEC and other national standards to ensure compliance across all deliverables.
• Interpret and implement energy codes and perform photometric calculations as needed.

Required profile

• Proven ability to work independently and deliver high‑quality construction documents.
• Strong communication skills to act as an expert resource both internally and externally.
• Deep understanding of NEC, energy codes, and national electrical standards.
• Experience solving complex design challenges with minimal supervision.
