Finance Manager - Pre-Launch Electronic Money Institution

About the role

Fast Shift Limited is an Electronic Money Institution licensed by the Malta Financial Services Authority, building EUR payment infrastructure (IBANs, SEPA, SEPA Instant, SWIFT) with card issuing to follow. This is its first dedicated finance resource in the Yerevan hub, with no finance team, no ERP and no predecessor's working papers. You will prepare management accounts, budgets, models, reconciliation working papers and draft regulatory returns, working directly with the CEO, the Maltese corporate services provider and the external auditor.

Key responsibilities

• Monthly management accounts with commentary (actuals vs budget, cash runway, unit economics by product) and the rolling three-year plan, plus the annual budget cycle and variance analysis.
• Pricing models for new products, client segments and intragroup arrangements.
• Draft regulatory returns for Malta review and submission, including own-funds calculations and the regulatory reporting calendar.
• Daily reconciliation of safeguarded funds against e-money liabilities, with working papers and evidence trail.
• Annual IFRS financial statements and audit file, supporting the external audit including travel to Malta.
• Vendor cost tracking and invoice checks, and intragroup recharge calculations and transfer pricing documentation.
• Review the outputs of the Maltese corporate services provider and prepare board and shareholder reporting packs.

Required profile

• ACCA or equivalent, or substantially complete.
• Five or more years in financial services, a bank, a licensed financial institution or financial services audit at a Big 4 or comparable firm.
• Hands-on experience preparing regulatory returns to a central bank or regulator, and IFRS reporting.
• Fluent written and spoken English; regular travel to Malta required.
• Strongly preferred: exposure to EU payments regulation (EMD2, PSD2, safeguarding), experience in a fast-growing or newly licensed institution, and experience with an outsourced accounting provider.
