Maintenance Technician

About the role

JW Marriott is hiring a full-time, non-management maintenance technician in Tsaghkadzor, Armenia. The role covers responding to guest repair requests, performing preventive maintenance and basic repairs on tools, kitchen and mechanical room equipment, and maintaining the maintenance inventory.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve guest repair requests, communicating clearly with guests and customers.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication, and visually inspect tools, equipment and machines.
• Carry equipment such as tools and radios, and identify, locate and operate shut-off valves and utility shut-offs.
• Maintain the maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
• Report daily activities and problems to other shifts through approved communication channels.
• Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, and replace light bulbs and A/C filters, then clean up the work area.
• Test, troubleshoot and repair equipment, plumbing (plunge toilets, unclog drains), electrical components, lamps, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, switches and outlets, and other guestroom items.
• Program TVs, perform general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties, and use the Lockout/Tagout system before any maintenance work.
• Repair interior and exterior landscaping and sprinkler systems.
• Enter air handler schedules and make temperature changes on a computer.
• Follow safety and security policies, complete safety training, store flammable materials safely and respect guest privacy and company assets.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
• Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation and painting preferred.
• Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is a plus.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Driver's license required.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge or ability to learn air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation and building basics.
• Basic computer skills, including entering air handler schedules and changing temperatures.
