About the role

JW Marriott in Yerevan is hiring a full-time, non-management cook. The job covers preparing and cooking food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping and storing food, and wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables.
• Weigh, measure and mix ingredients, then prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards and a food preparation checklist.
• Prepare cold foods and operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Test foods to make sure they are cooked sufficiently and monitor food quality.
• Set up and break down the workstation and serve food in proper portions onto proper receptacles.
• Wash and disinfect the kitchen area, tables, tools, knives and equipment, and check that appliance and food temperatures are correct.
• Follow company and safety policies, report accidents and unsafe conditions, complete safety training and certifications, and keep a clean, professional appearance.
• Work in a team, support colleagues and meet quality expectations.
• Stand, sit or walk for long periods, reach overhead and below the knees, and lift objects up to 25 pounds.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
• At least 1 year of related work experience preferred.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No license or certification required.
