Senior Data Engineer

About the role

Lineate is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and cloud‑based data lake architectures. You will work with cutting‑edge AI‑driven solutions for FinTech, HealthTech, and AdTech clients.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines using Spark, Airflow, and AWS Glue.
• Develop and optimise ETL/ELT processes for large datasets.
• Design and evolve cloud‑based data lake and lakehouse architectures.
• Ensure data quality, pipeline reliability, performance and cost efficiency.
• Define technical standards and make key architectural decisions.
• Troubleshoot production issues and performance bottlenecks.
• Conduct code and architecture reviews and mentor other engineers.
• Collaborate with engineering, analytics, and business teams.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering.
• Strong production experience with Spark, Airflow, and AWS Glue.
• Proven experience designing scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and distributed data‑processing solutions.
• Experience designing data lake or lakehouse architectures.
• Strong SQL and Python skills.
• Understanding of data modelling, partitioning, schema evolution, and data quality.
• Ability to own solutions from architecture through production support.
• Experience making technical decisions and guiding other engineers.
