Freelance Data Research Curator (Remote Independent Contractor)

About the role

A fully remote, independent contractor position supporting one of the largest cloud computing platforms in the life sciences industry. The Data Operations team sources real-time customer intelligence and reference data to engage medical and scientific experts worldwide. You will act as a data researcher, searching the web for public information and curating data assets according to project guidelines, paid in USD on an hourly or project basis.

Key responsibilities

• Complete onboarding and rules training (self-paced or guided, up to 2 weeks).
• Gather data on experts, healthcare providers, pharmacies and associations, including degrees, specialties and workplaces (primary focus for Track A).
• For Track B only: verify and collect data through outreach phone calls, which may account for up to 50% of the work.
• Meet KPIs and quality benchmarks; work with medical terms and healthcare industry structures.

Required profile

• High proficiency in English (reading and speaking) is mandatory for all tracks.
• Track A: English only; Track B also requires professional fluency in a target market language such as Polish, Swedish, Lithuanian, Ukrainian, Kazakh, Hebrew, Icelandic, Norwegian or Finnish.
• Own computer: Windows 10 22H2 or newer (e.g. Windows 11) or macOS Big Sur or newer, with a reliable internet connection of at least 10 Mbps.
• Prior freelancing or professional experience in data entry, web research or a similar data-handling role.
• Preferred: life sciences, healthcare or medical background, and an additional European or Asian language.

Required skills

• Strong web research skills with attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs and Spreadsheets.
• Ability to cross-reference and compare database records from multiple online sources.
