Senior Database Administrator (PostgreSQL)

About the role

Tabby is looking for a Senior Database Administrator to join its Infrastructure team and help build and maintain reliable, high‑performance database systems at scale. You will tackle challenging technical problems, improve database reliability and performance, and support the infrastructure powering Tabby's fast‑growing fintech platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design, construct, install and maintain large relational databases.
• Maintain database integrity and security, including backups, recovery procedures and disaster‑recovery systems.
• Monitor performance, apply patches, upgrades and optimise queries.
• Set up and maintain replication, clustering, mirroring and other high‑availability strategies.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimise database usage and implement tools such as PgBouncer and modern monitoring systems.

Required profile

• Proven hands‑on experience with PostgreSQL (setup, replication, upgrades, monitoring, performance tuning).
• Ability to write and optimise complex SQL queries.
• Experience with backup and recovery strategies, including Point‑in‑Time Recovery.
• Strong understanding of database design, documentation and development best practices.
• Professional proficiency in English (B2 level or higher) and strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
