Senior Database Administrator (PostgreSQL)

About the role

Tabby is looking for a Senior Database Administrator to join its Infrastructure team and help build and maintain reliable, high‑performance database systems at scale. You will tackle challenging technical problems, improve database reliability and performance, and support the infrastructure powering Tabby’s fast‑growing fintech business.

Key responsibilities

• Design, construct, install and maintain large relational databases, primarily PostgreSQL.
• Maintain database integrity and security, including backups, recovery procedures and Point‑in‑Time Recovery.
• Implement and manage disaster recovery, failover, replication, clustering and mirroring strategies.
• Monitor performance, apply patches, upgrades and optimise queries.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimise database usage and set up high‑availability solutions such as PgBouncer.

Required profile

• Proven hands‑on experience with PostgreSQL setup, replication, upgrades, monitoring and performance tuning.
• Ability to write and optimise complex SQL queries.
• Strong understanding of database design, documentation and best practices.
• Professional proficiency in English (B2 level or higher).
• Strong problem‑solving skills and excellent communication abilities.
