Senior NLP/LLM Engineer

About the role

Social Discovery Group (SDG) is seeking a Senior NLP/LLM Engineer to advance its AI-driven social discovery products. You will work remotely with an international team of digital nomads, shaping the next generation of conversational agents and large language model applications.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct experiments with LLMs, exploring architectures and techniques such as SFT, RLHF, adapters, and LoRA.
• Develop and maintain robust evaluation frameworks for offline and online metrics, measuring performance, accuracy, and user satisfaction.
• Optimize models for inference to meet production‑grade speed, efficiency, and scalability requirements.
• Collaborate closely with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to integrate AI solutions into the product pipeline.

Required profile

• Deep understanding of machine‑learning and deep‑learning principles, including model validation, loss functions, and evaluation metrics.
• Hands‑on experience with classic NLP tasks (text preprocessing, TF‑IDF, classification, NER, semantic similarity) and transformer models such as BERT.
• Practical expertise with large language models, fine‑tuning, alignment (RLHF, DPO), quantization, and high‑performance serving frameworks (vLLM, SGLang).
• Strong Python programming skills and solid foundation in linear algebra, probability, statistics, and optimization.
• Proficiency with ML libraries and tools: numpy, pandas, scipy, scikit‑learn, PyTorch, Transformers.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
