Senior Python Engineer - AI/ML Systems

About the role

WorldQuant is seeking a senior Python engineer to join a small, high‑impact team focused on building complex data pipelines and AI/ML systems. You will work closely with researchers and other technology groups to design, develop, and deploy scalable software solutions that power predictive financial strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain robust data pipelines for large‑scale financial datasets.
• Develop AI/ML components, including large language model integrations, to generate predictive signals.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and conduct thorough code reviews.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define architectural standards and drive best practices.
• Ensure solutions are production‑ready, secure, and performant on cloud environments.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field from a top‑tier institution.
• 5+ years of professional Python development experience, with a strong focus on data engineering and AI/ML.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor team members.
• Excellent communication skills for explaining complex concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
