Senior System Administrator – Microsoft & VDI Infrastructure

About the role

Social Discovery Group is seeking an experienced Senior System Administrator to manage and evolve its Microsoft and VDI infrastructure across multiple data centers. The role is fully remote and involves close collaboration with NOC, InfoSec, DevOps, and L2 support teams.

Key responsibilities

• Administer corporate Microsoft services (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, PKI, Group Policy) and ensure they remain patched and documented.
• Support VDI and terminal server farms, including Citrix or alternative platforms, and manage related domain services and certificates.
• Maintain access platforms such as Atlassian suite, 1C/ERP, SQL servers, Google Workspace, and Slack.
• Participate in infrastructure projects: AD domain migration, VDI farm replacement, load‑balancing stack upgrade, Windows server refresh, and legacy system decommissioning.
• Prepare implementation steps, build test environments, run pilots, and keep infrastructure documentation (NetBox, Confluence) up to date.
• Take part in on‑call rotation to ensure system availability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience administering Microsoft and VDI environments.
• Hands‑on experience with at least one Active Directory forest migration with minimal downtime.
• Fluent in Russian and English (B1 or higher).

Required skills

• Active Directory (multi‑domain, forests, trusts, GPO, Kerberos/NTLM, FSMO, DFS).
• DNS, DHCP, PKI (AD CS), Group Policy.
• VDI platforms – Citrix or alternatives, Windows 11 golden images.
• Windows RDS – Connection Broker, RD Gateway, Session Hosts, FSLogix, MFA (Duo).
• Windows Server 2012‑2025, WSUS, Veeam backup/restore.
• Linux (Ubuntu, AlmaLinux, CentOS/RHEL) system administration.
• Load balancing – nginx, HAProxy, keepalived/VRRP.
• Virtualization – Hyper‑V, VMware ESXi.
• Google Workspace/GCP administration.
• Automation – PowerShell; Bash or Python and IaC (Terraform, Ansible) a plus.
