Automation Test Engineer

About the role

The Automation Test Engineer will design, build and maintain Python‑based testing infrastructure and automated test suites for CQG products. The role blends software development with deep troubleshooting, performance analysis and defect investigation to ensure high‑quality releases.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Python‑based testing frameworks, tools and infrastructure.
• Create scalable, maintainable automated testing solutions, including performance testing capabilities.
• Improve reliability and performance of the testing infrastructure.
• Review, refactor and enhance existing Python codebases.
• Analyze performance test results, investigate degradations and recommend improvements.
• Analyze automated test outcomes, reproduce defects and report issues in both the framework and the product under test.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
• 2+ years of hands‑on software development experience, primarily in Python.
• 2+ years of practical testing experience, including test plan creation and execution.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and collaborate within a team.

Required skills

• Python programming (OOP, concurrency, performance optimisation, debugging).
• Experience with testing frameworks such as pytest or unittest.
• Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols.
• Network programming in Python (socket, websocket, asyncio).
• Familiarity with C# (a plus).
• Version control using Git.
• Issue tracking with Jira.
