Data Platform SRE / Observability Engineer

About the role

This role builds a unified observability framework for the data platform, covering infrastructure stacks such as Trino, Kubernetes, databases and big data (Apache Ozone and Hadoop). It also covers strategic tasks like DORA metrics, health dashboards and proactive alerting, acting as a single point of expertise so team leads are freed from routine monitoring support.

Key responsibilities

• Develop end-to-end monitoring for all infrastructure stacks, including Trino, Kubernetes, databases and big data (Apache Ozone and Hadoop)
• Implement automatic collection of DORA metrics and build high-level health dashboards showing service uptime
• Audit current metrics and close gaps in monitoring, especially in K8s, databases and distributed storage
• Optimize and update Alertmanager rules to catch incidents and anomalies early
• Act as the single point of expertise in monitoring, freeing team leads from dashboard and alerting support

Required profile

• 3 years of experience as DevOps/SRE and 5 years in IT
• Experience as an SRE or monitoring engineer focused on infrastructure reliability rather than product features
• Practical understanding of SLI/SLO/SLA, error budgets and DORA metrics
• Ability to turn system behaviour and logs into clear, actionable metrics

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana and Alertmanager, including complex PromQL queries
• Containerization (Kubernetes) and databases
• Quick grasp of metrics for distributed systems (Hadoop, Trino)
• Python, Go or JS as a plus
