Head of Systems

About the role

The Head of Systems will lead the infrastructure function for CC Moneybase, covering cloud, on‑premises, networks and corporate IT. This senior role combines strategic leadership with hands‑on technical work to ensure a reliable, secure and resilient environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define and deliver the infrastructure roadmap, manage budget, licences and vendor relationships.
• Lead, coach and develop the IT Systems Manager and two systems engineers, building a culture of ownership and documentation.
• Run and optimise Microsoft Azure estate, including VMs, networking, storage, Entra ID and governance.
• Oversee VMware vSphere, ESXi and vCenter operations, hybrid connectivity and physical server lifecycle.
• Maintain and secure Linux servers across cloud and on‑premises.
• Own corporate IT services, endpoint management, identity and access management using Microsoft Intune, 365 and Entra ID.
• Ensure infrastructure resilience, backup and disaster recovery, and provide evidence for risk and compliance.
• Drive automation and Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, Ansible and related tools.
• Evaluate and implement AI‑assisted security and monitoring solutions.

Required profile

• 8+ years in infrastructure or systems engineering, with at least 3 years leading a team.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure, VMware vSphere and Linux administration.
• Experience with Fortinet FortiGate firewalls, load balancers, and edge platforms such as Cloudflare.
• Proven ability to implement Infrastructure as Code and automate operational tasks.
• Excellent communication skills to explain technical risk to non‑technical executives.
