Mobile Engineer - React Native (100% Remote)

About the role

Tether is looking for a Mobile Engineer to develop and maintain Keet Mobile, a peer‑to‑peer chat and calling app for iOS and Android. The app is built with React Native and Expo, and its core P2P functionality runs directly on the device.

Key responsibilities

• Build and polish features across chat, voice and video calls, media sharing, device pairing and identity backup.
• Integrate native platform capabilities such as push notifications, camera, biometrics and background tasks on both iOS and Android.
• Profile and optimise performance on real devices, including startup time, long chats, media handling, battery and network usage.
• Write unit and end‑to‑end tests, maintain CI pipelines and monitor crash reporting to keep releases stable.
• Collaborate closely with core P2P, design and product teams, reviewing code with a high quality bar.

Required profile

• Significant experience with React Native, Redux for state management and Redux‑Saga.
• Highly proficient in JavaScript and ES6+.
• Experience working with remote teams.
